Blank Canvas, a collective of NYC emerging artists, brings you "The Thrift Show;" A single night art experience. The essence is of difference, exploring the variations of associations provoked when stepping into a thrift store. There will be reasonably priced art for sale, other art not for sale and live music that will stimulate the satisfaction of those random finds and undiscovered gems inspired by the past, present and future. The event will be held at the Paper Box: a music and art complex located at 17 Meadow Street in East Williamsburg’s warehouse district. The Paper Box is a 5,000 square foot event space including a stage, full bar, lounge and outdoor patio. Blank Canvas Collective is a growing community of individuals working together and exchanging ideas. Our purpose is to create, promote, and exhibit expression in all its forms. Our goal is to build a sanctuary for artists. Currently, many members have earned their education at the Fashion Institute of Technology, graduating with a Bachelors in Fine Arts. Other members range from outsider artists to conservatory-taught within other concentrations. Individual members have participated in various shows around NYC and festivals such as Art Basel Miami and Bushwick Open Studios.
