Since the early 70’s, Tony Screw, a.k.a. Downbeat the Ruler, has been entertaining and educating crowds from Brooklyn to Berlin with his inimitable blend of stage presence, exclusive dubplates and a second sense for keeping a dance floor packed. Named in honor of Tony Screw’s musical mentor Sir Coxsone Dodd, Downbeat the Ruler Sound has introduced generations of reggae fans to the sounds of Studio One, the blueprint of Jamaican music.

Jah Wise (Tippatone Sound) has been involved in Jamaican music ever since Ska was first invented. Growing up in West Kingston, Jamaica with his brother, singer Cornell Campbell, he has been continually playing with sound systems since 1967. As the top selector for Tippatone, Jah Wise has selected for legendary deejays such as Big Youth and Dr. Alimantado.

Hailing from Tokyo, Japan and the youngest selector on the bill, Tommy Far East has become known throughout the world for both his tremendous archive of original Ska and Rocksteady vinyl and the absolute joy he has in sharing it with audiences throughout the world. This will be his first time ever playing in NYC.

New York-­based sound system and record shop Deadly Dragon Sound System has been playing since 1995 and have been sharing their love for Jamaican music ever since. Featuring Selectors Scratch Famous, JD, Queen Majesty and Mr. K., Deadly Dragon Sound has long been a respected force in the reggae community as selectors, retailers, radio hosts and collectors of reggae music from the foundation of Ska all the way up to the newest riddims bubbling up from the yard.
