$10.00Com Truise
Synth heavy production takes residency on the Paper Box stage for the month of October, masking itself as Com Truise, and swarming our minds with futurist electro dreams. If you think of the name truly as an inversion of the once revered actor’s, it also serves as an example of the sound. Imagine the inside of that man’s mind- like a swirling spiral of insanity and magic, colors, aliens, and space. Translate these ideas into electronic music to get something that effectively captures an other-worldly futurist space travel; I’m getting on this ride.
Cardiknox
Cardiknox is a little bit Marina & The Diamonds meets campy production and a punk flare. Flaring delectable and danceable pop music with a powerful front-woman, a sexy male counterpart with quick lips, and sick’ning synths, this is a band just now hitting the scene and coming on strong. It’s all very theatrical, bringing to sound what Technicolor Dreaming looks like. I’ll take it, and I pray that it’s a recurring dream.

Com Truise
| official site | facebook |
Com Truise is one of the many personas of producer and designer Seth Haley, born and raised in upstate New York and operating out of a 12'-overrun apartment in Princeton, New Jersey. An admitted synth obsessive, Com Truise is the maker of an experimental and bottom heavy style he calls "mid-fi synth-wave, slow-motion funk". Haley's been making music on the side for roughly a decade—going through pseudonyms like toothbrushes (Sarin Sunday, SYSTM, Airliner)—first as a DJ, and currently, as an excavator of softer, window-fogging synth-wave.

New York-based Cardiknox is the duo of Lonnie Angle and Thomas Dutton. Having grown up in Seattle playing classical piano on Lonnie's side and punk music on Thomas' end, the pair originally teamed up to create and produce rowdy musicals before moving to New York. Cardiknox was thereafter born from a love of folding their unique talents into an original craft—mixing 80's beats and production with ferocious vocals and dynamic hooks. Their debut single, "Hold Me Down," is an indelibly hard-hitting, giant tiger bite of a song that will take hold of your brain and not let go.
Jacob 2-2
| official site | facebook |
Jacob 2-2 draws from the old school hip-hop production of Duke Bootee and Erik B, while incorporating some new techniques reminiscent of Hudson Mohawke and Neon Indian. The result is a sound that is both introverted and flamboyant, a pimpadelic excursion through the midtempo.
