ILLEGALIZE is an independent hip-hop band based in Brooklyn, consisting of a male & female rap duo, live drums, bass, keyboards and a female vocalist. Their sound is a soulful blend of raw New York hip-hop, sonically rich psychedelic funk, and Brazilian undercurrents. Once a house-party, jam-based band formed at college, ILLEGALIZE is now reunited several years later, bringing new life experiences and perspectives to its current incarnation. In April 2013, the band released their self-produced second EP, Tortoise Style, available as a free download from illegalize.bandcamp.com.
