In many ways Friday’s show is an ode to, and journey through, life in New York. Cold Blood Club draw much of their inspiration from the city that cradled the birth of their sound, and in turn deliver a style of pop that feels intrinsically now, inherently New York. The talented experimental artist ChemistReset adds to this atmosphere with his bold, city-bound electronica. His particular brand of music would be the perfect soundtrack for an “Enter The Void” type futuristic urban film, certain to invite the audience to indulge in escapism. Expect a mood that will pull you to the edge, and push you over, while revealing the multi-faceted nature of tonight’s artists, much like New York itself.

    Cold Blood Club

Grungy fuzzy upbeat pop emanates from the invigorating stage presence of Cold Blood Club as they create the sound of the quintessential Brooklyn house party (as is certainly their intention). Consider this the 2013 iteration of New Order and Depeche Mode influenced rock, deliciously translated into dance floor primed disco. The crafty balance of rock and electro brings to mind The Killers’ later records, but Cold Blood Club are bringing a new flavor while begging you to dance.

    ChemistReset

Insanely sexy, sultry (at times exotic) electric guitar is curiously paired with hyper-quick beats, creating the intriguing sound from ChemistReset. It’s absolutely experimental, but it still provides the audience with a point of accessibility, and even manages to be danceable sometimes. If Cold Blood Club aims to capture the sound of today’s New York, then ChemistReset is the sound of 2030 New York. Look beyond the thrilling chaos and you might just find something serenely beautiful.

    Vinyette

Vinyette strays from the electronic theme of the night to bring us a lively and interactive show based around alternative rock. At times they come off funky, at times dreamy, but consistently influenced by Pink Floyd. Their shows are dynamic, with several diverse and eye-catching performance tricks (rightfully earning them the title of “cinematic rock band”). Expect to be entertained by high quality performances from a group of guys that are no strangers to the stage (and consider this a reprieve from the EDM of the night).
